Curly Girly
Curly Girly is a highly elaborate aesthetic from the '90s to the early '00s that mostly targeted grade-school-aged girls. Pink, purple, and cyan dominated the designs' color palettes. Typefaces were fun and frilly, similar to the infamous Curlz MT. Basically, merchandise was the opposite of contemporary "sad beige" toys. Brands like Barbie, Polly Pocket and Bratz carried Curly Girly's popularity in their merchandise, packaging, and even Websites. I grew up during this aesthetic's prime time, so it will always make me feel joyfully nostalgic! My school backpacks, CD player, birthday party themes, and room décor were all very Curly Girly.

I have spent COUNTLESS hours on barbie.com and its sister sites. I couldn't even count how many makeovers, room redesigns, and manicures I've given these pixel dolls. Courtesy of me, Barbie and her MyScene friends got to rock blue eyeshadow or maybe a cute mini skirt. You can still play a lot of these games on Numuki.com and the Flashpoint Archive! I mean, I still do sometimes.
